Carmen M. Amezquita – Faith Formation Coordinator
A member of St. Matthew Church since 1984, worked as Faith Formation Coordinator for 12 years and serve as Eucharistic minister and cantor. My husband and I also serve as the Head Marriage Preparation sponsors for St. Matthew Church. Married for 40 years to Luis E. Amezquita; we have one son, Luis Alejandro Amezquita.
As Faith Formation coordinator, I am responsible for processing student registrations for the Faith Formation program, maintain all files and sacramental records for all children in the program (grades 1 – 12). I guide the children in preparation for them to receive the sacraments of Confirmation, Eucharist, and Reconciliation. I am also responsible for processing and maintaining financial records for all the families in our program, maintain Protecting God’s Children records, process background checks for employees, catechists and volunteers to insure that they meet the requirements for St. Matthew Church volunteers at our parish.
Alan Andersen Jr. – Facilities Manager
30 yrs. experience in Commercial/Industrial facilities maintenance/janitorial. Highly professional, motivated, meticulous and energetic; resourceful problem-solver; strong commitment to performance excellence.
Hobbies I enjoy are football, motocross racing, spending time with my grandchildren and my wife of 35yrs.
I handle the day to day mechanical operations of the school, church, rectory and parish center, along with overseeing the janitorial needs. I oversee the landscaping and snow removal needs for the property.
Chris Wolgat – Parish Secretary
Married and have been members of St. Matthew since 1982. Served as Parish Secretary since year 2000.
I welcome all who contact St. Matthew. Responsibilities include keeping an accurate data base of parishioners; recording and maintaining sacramental records; and bulletin editor for our weekly bulletin.
Christian O’Kelley – Music Director
I graduated from Elmhurst College in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition, focusing in voice, piano, and organ. I have been blessed to be able to sing as part of the Elmhurst College Choir with Andrea Bocelli on his world tour and also with Brian Stokes Mitchell and Bobby McFerrin at Ravinia.
As a music director, I coordinate the musical liturgy here at St. Matthew Parish and schedules and runs rehearsals for Traditional Choir, the Children’s Choir, collaborates and oversees Cornerstone, the contemporary worship choir. Dcn. Gabriel Gamboa – Permanent Deacon
History: 2 years at St. Matthew, 20 years St Joseph
Duties: Assist in mass, baptisms, etc.
Dcn. Mick Ruddle – Director of Faith Formation
Faith in God and the sacramental life of the Church Jesus has given us have become an integral part of my life. I enjoy helping children, teens, and adults on their journey ‘to love God and to love neighbor’ – The Greatest Commandment (Mark 12:28-34)
I work with children and teens, as well as their families, in the Faith Formation program of our parish. I am also responsible for their preparation to receive the sacraments of Confirmation, Eucharist, and Reconciliation. I lead the I.M.P.A.C.T. Youth Group (Images of Man Projected According to Christ’s Teachings). I help adults who seek the sacraments of the Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and also work with adults who desire to deepen their faith life.
Evelyn Garfias – Director of Hispanic Ministry Faith Formation
I am a young adult millennial that is eager to share my faith with all those around me. I especially love working with teens and sharing with them the love God has for us. I love working at St. Matthew and having the opportunity to do what I love.
As director of Hispanic Ministry faith formation I am in charge of leading the Hispanic committee, report activities to the pastor, staff, and parish community, and help plan yearly activities. I also work with teens. I am in charge of Called to Greatness (CTG) group. CTG is the parish Hispanic youth group that continues to grow day by day.
Fr. Raj Kocherla – Parochial Vicar
Rev. Richard Cilano – Priest in Residence
Retired from the Buffalo Diocese, ordained at age 60, widower with a daughter who lives in Carol Stream, residing at St. Matthew’s since June of 2014.
I provide what is generally called “Supply ministry.” That is: I generally fill in where I might be needed – several weekday Masses, confessions, several weekend Masses, anointing of the sick when needed.
Gina Pestrak – School Principal
I have served as the school principal since July, 2012.
As the school principal, I welcome children to our school in grades Preschool-8th grade. It is my great joy to share the love of Jesus with our children, families, faculty and staff.
Annabelle Tumlos – Business Manager
Married with 7 children, member of St. Matthew Parish since 1990 and started working here in July 2008. I love to travel and explore the wonders of the world that God gave us.
As Business Manager, it brings me joy to share in Christ’s role as Shepherd over the material treasures of St. Matthew parish, guarding and guiding them to serve our parish mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ. I act as “point person” for inquiries on parish business and administrative matters, and responsible to oversee the general office, human resources and financial activities of the parish.
