Vocation

These are not just nice words, they are the truth for those who wish to accept the call to follow the Lord. Ask a parish priest about a vocation to the priesthood, sisterhood or brotherhood.

INDICATORS OF A CHURCH VOCATION
When considering a candidate for priesthood or religious life, the church looks for the presence of certain indicators that a person has what it takes to be an effective minister and that he or she will find joy in serving as a priest, sister or brother. Some of those indicators include sensitivity to others, attraction to groups dealing with human needs, idealism, leadership, orientation towards people and search for meaning in life.

If you recognize some of these indicators in your life, perhaps God is calling you to consider serving God’s people in the church as a priest, sister or brother. for more information or for a confidential meeting, call Father Burke Masters, at the Vocation Office at (815) 834-4004.
